Comprehensive Royal Mail shipping module bundle, configured to latest prices courtesy of stu2000:

This contribution is for UK Stores ONLY. What it will do is add several
shipping zones to your CRELoaded store. If your customer is UK based, it will
not show any of the International Shipping Options, and vice versa, if your
customer is International it will not show any UK based shipping methods.

INFORMATION

All Royal Mails prices are for the new style (packets) pricing, however common
sense is needed, a 3.0Kg parcel sent by Royal Mail First class standard delivery
would cost £10.69 using the new shipping prices, therefore it would make sense to
post it by Royal Mail Standard Parcels, therefore we have placed limits on the
lower end shipping methods. If a product goes over this limit, the shipping option
will not be displayed.

TNT UK Shipping Module for CRELoaded

TNT are one of the best regarded UK carriers, offering express delivery of parcels and consignments across the UK. However, their system charges according to both weight and postcode. At logon.info we have developed a bespoke module which allows your website to automatically calculate the relevant shipping charge based on the delivery postcode and weight of items the customer has added to their shopping cart.

This module will be fully installed within 7 days of your order being placed. We will need you to inform us if you have special rates with TNT, as the module is installed otherwise with their standard rates.

NightFreight Shipping Module for CRELoaded

NightFreight are one of the UK's best carriers for unusual items of freight, as well as having a national network ideally suited for traditional parcels and pallets. The specialise in "Irregular Dimensions and Weight" items which most carriers will reject - items such as engines and car parts, double glazing frames and furniture amongst others.

Because of the large variety of items which NightFreight carry, the traditional modules for shipping in CRELoaded do not offer sufficient flecibility to ensure accurate pricing. We have developed a solution which overcomes this obstacle, offering shipping based on:

Weight
Postcode
Freight type
Time (overnight and 3 day)

With these 4 parameters set by the items which the customer adds to their shopping cart, the system can then calculate an accurate shipping quotation for you and for the customer, reducing losses on your part and reducing abandoned carts by the customer.

Zipcode Fix for create account

This is a simple fix for the user only. I didn't change the admin file to display it correctly. Maybe in the future. This file will let the user enter his zip code after the state instead of before the city. This is the standard form fill for the U.S. If you have any questions, please email me.

Wordpress Article Manager

This contribution displays wordpress content, by category, in oscommerce. It is the simplest solution to adding fulltext content to your store. The contribution displays a box with all your categories in, and the content is displayed in the middle of the page. Very easy to set up, and NO FILES ARE OVERWRITTEN. (will work on any oscommerce installation, modified or not)

Welcome Email username & password

This contribution gives your customers an email that they can save or print so they can remember the email address they used to signup at your store and the password. In addition, there is also a note added to the welcome email that let's customers know that if they UNCHECKED the newsletter box, they will not receive emails after order is placed. We found customers sometimes get mad thinking they have signed up for a newsletter when in fact this is the normal ordering process. Webmaster Defined front page

The default OS Commerce displayes New Products on the front, index.php I needed something customizable. The contribution, also known as yourfrontpage onlys consists of two PHP files and a README.TXT file. Only three changes to existing files are necessary. It will work fine in multiple-language envireonments and requires no additional database tables. It is nothing complex. Just a late-night hack I thought I would share.

Vendor_Auto_E-mail (In_Development)

This contrib is currently under development. Ihave posted ti in order to get everyone involved with it as I beleive this could be very useful. When finished, it will be able to automatically send your product vendor and e-mail, or anyone an e-mail, after a cusotmer has purchased it and you have received payment confirmation from your payment processor. Vendors are added through the Admin, send e-mail can be turned off and on, and vendors are linked through the add/edit product pages. Future addons will be to include "vendor" price in prod page, and the ability to set a user defined "mark-up" in the Admin, as well as many other additional functions.

Vbulletin Integration

Warning - this is not a package that can just be installed into your site. It is a base a php developer can use to integrate your oscommerce site with vbulletin. I created this for one site (a heavily modified oscommerce site) with specific needs and so it will not just slot into your site. It also requires modification to vbulletin to make it work. Another developer may be able to create a more generic package.

VAT Display

This contribution is meant to solve the problem of displaying prices including and excluding VAT. It will 1. Affect the display of prices in the following manner a. If the person is NOT logged in, then the product will display two prices, one including tax and one excluding tax b. If the person is logged in, then the price will display either a price including tax or a price excluding tax depending on their country of origin. 2. Add a page which displays information explaining what VAT is.

validate_email

Lots of customers mistype their e-mail address or just use fake ones. This is a problem when the store staff needs to contact them. This patch adds: - an e-mail verification field, just like the password verification, to avoid mistypings. - after the e-mail is verified by tep_validate_email, a connection is made to port 25 of the customer's mail server and issue a couple of SMTP commands (EHLO, MAIL FROM and RCTP TO) to check if the address really exists. valid XHTML Catalog Side 2.3

This contribution validates the catalog side only under XHTML. Also took the liberty of correcting the following things: * improperly nested tags * missing start/end tags * product_listing.php no longer creates urls with the category, only appends product_id to url. Search engines frown upon multiple copies of the same file, which is exactly how it appears as default. * fixing all calls to scripts * Relieving the stylesheet of the reduncy in attributes (font-family was declared 36 times!) This is meant for a fresh install of ms2 as it is a direct replacement of files. Can also use a file comparison utility of course.

US Mail Format

This contribution will allow you to have your customer's mailing address in the proper United States Format. For example: John Doe Some Street Some City, Some State, Zip Code This is a very simple modification, it works with my Oscommerce 2.2 Milestone2 store. It requires changes to the database.

URL Gatekeeper v0.9

URLGatekeeper is a simple script which assures that your store is only accessible via the domain name you specify. It's main application is for servers hosting multiple domains via DNS pointing & subdirectories. Store owners who may be hosting their shop on a main server, and using a DNS pointing service for the store domain will find it useful. URLGatekeeper allows only URL's with the correct domain (www.YOURSTORE.com) to access files. If a non-specified (but valid) domain name / URL is used to access your catalog, the user will simply be redirected to the appropriate page using the approved domain. It features a JavaScript redirect which will overwrite the browser history, to avoid the dreaded 'back-forward' redirect loop. It also includes a redundant meta-refresh for browsers that may have JavaScript disabled, or for spiders, etc. Should prevent search engines from displaying pages with the non-allowable URL.

I am new to this but i wanted to make a small contribution which worked for me. I needed to change the word top to home in the catalog. I am not sure if it is the write way but it works. I changed it in English but i think it will work for the other languages as well.

Too Many Split Page Results

I had an error on my site where a particular portion that made use of the "splitPageResults" class was indicating far more results/result pages than there actually were. The "splitPageResults" class checks the query that is passed to it for the existance of certain keywords ("from", "group by", "having", "order by", and "distinct"). It uses it's findings to build a new query designed to simply count the results of the original query. However, it was only checking for the existance of these keywords in lowercase. This modification allows for the safe use of upper case sql keywords in queries that are filtered through the "splitPageResults" class. This is accomplished by creating an additional variable in the class to store the query in forced lower case (ie: strtolower($query) ). Then that variable is used as the one to check against for the existence of the sql keywords. Please be sure to backup any files you are going to modify and read the attached installation instructions.

Tobit Customer Export

This is a customer CSV export for Tobit David Messaging Server (www.tobit.com), because this great software is mostly used in germany i didn't make it multilanguage - and didn't put in german discription. But as the code is very short - i think it's there is no need Export der Kundendaten für Tobit David - um Z.b. die Newsletterkunden zu exportieren - oder aber die Kunden auch besser im David zu verwalten. Recht einfach gestrickt - problem ist nur immer die Importschnittstelle bei David, die ich hier etwas austüfteln musste, da die Beschreibungen mal wieder nicht funktionierten. Wir nutzen den Export mit einer alten TEP Version und 2.1, OSC 2.2 sollte auch funktionieren, da nicht so viel verlangt wird. tep_show_category optimization

If you ever added Output Queries Debug (http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2575) to your site (and didn't do any caching) you will have noticed a sometimes substantial number of count queries like: select count(*) as count from categories where parent_id = Ƈ' These are queries originating from the function tep_has_category_subcategories which is called in the function tep_show_category in catalog/includes/boxes/categories.php (the categories box) to determine whether a category has any subcategories. If yes, than it will print an arrow (->) behind the category name. This mod will get the information in one query instead of using a separate count query for every category and subcategory shown in the categories box. Expand All / Collapse All

tep_get_path optimization

If you ever added Output Queries Debug (http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2575) to your site you will have noticed a number of very similar queries getting the parent_id of categories on index.php where you have subcategories showing (two for each subcategory). Half of them are the same. They are all queries originating from the function tep_get_path. This mod will eliminate all of those queries.

tep_get_category_tree optimization

The function tep_get_category_tree is the one that creates the contents of the drop-down menu (the one that starts with Top) in the top right corner of the categories.php page in the admin section. In the 2.2MS2 version of osCommerce it is very inefficient as relating to mySQL queries. It queries the database for every category, subcategory, or subsubcategory. If you have a lot of categories it will make that page load slow.

tep_count_products_in_category

This is a modified version of the tep_count_products_in_category function defined in includes/functions/general.php Only two queries are done to count the products of all categories and subcategories. This is the first time I write code for OSC, so I'm sure I'm failing to follow whatever standards you have in place. Maybe some more experienced developer wants to have a look at it.

Supplier Admin Area V0.2

It's a contribution that allows you to create some suppliers and set a markup percentage for each one and select which categories they can add their products to with a login name and password. The suppliers can then login to their own pages where they can add products to their categories entering the cost price that they sell the product to you for. The front of the shop will show the list price determined by the markup on cost you had set for that supplier. The suppliers can only see and modify their own products and not any other suppliers. Once installed you will have a supplier box in the left admin menu where you add new suppliers, select there markup % and also which categories they can add products too. The supplier can login to add their products to your store at http://www.your-domain.com/catalog/supplier_area.php Here they can add products as well as being able to see how many items they have sold through your store each month.. Superstats Code Insertion w/ Unique Page Names

This is a simple modification to include the code, from the http://mycomputer.com/ Superstats page & hit-tracking service, into the OSCommerce system. The mod goes into the bottom of the catalog/includes/footer.php page. The mod determines what page it is serving and adds the page name to the appropriate place in the Superstats code, so that each page shoes up as a unique hit. The mod is also set up to only include the Supperstats code on non-SSL pages, so as to not call unsecure content onto a secure page. This feature can easily be disabled, or modified. I wrote this for Superstats, but it would work fine with any hit tracking system, or with a counter program.

Store Width and Color INSTANT Changer

This is my first contribution. This is very simple, and will give you the flexibility of changing your store's width, and your store's background color's (both inside the store, and outside of the store) in an INSTANT! Currently, to change your store's width...etc, you have to go into all of the loose files in your oscommerce catalog/ directory and change each one of them whenever you want to try a new look. This contribution will save you hours, and give you the ability to redesign your store, or even add holiday or seasonal looks to your website in an INSTANT.

Store Name Fix

This fix was mainly intended to be a sugestion for future versions of OSCom. Because the store name does not change often, the fix really is not worth the instal but I listed anyways.

Step57.info Hack Fix

I got slammed by this cPanel exploit and all my stores got nasty iframes, to sites containing a virus, insert into the language files. So i wrote this crude script to go through the store and fix the bad files and hack files which have been uploaded. Very simple to use: Step 1: Backup all your site files (since if you are using this script you have cPanel so go to Cpanel -> Backups and do a full home directory backup. Step 2: Open this file, edit the settings at the top and upload it to your store directory Step 3: Run the file by going to http://yourstore.com/hackfix.php The file may take some time to run depending on how many files you have, when its finished it will tell you have many files/folders were scanned, show the files which were edited and which files were deleted. This was created as a quick solution for a client who did not feel comfortable using phpMyAdmin and only had the occasional query to run. This mod creates a new page in the Admin CP in the Tools box. Paste your query in the text box and hit Send. It's as simple as that. This is a *very* basic mod. For now, this mod only allows 1 query at a time. It'll take you less than 5 minutes to install this.

Spiders.txt bug fix (session id's)

When the code in includes/application_top.php was written, it was assumed that spiders and bots do not accept cookies. Today, this is no longer true and more and more spiders and bots are accepting cookies in the search for more web content. When a bot accepts cookies it gets a session and next thing you know it is adding products to your shopping cart. In the worst case the spider or bots can get lost in your shopping cart going round and round in circles. To see this happening I recommend you install the Who's Online Enhancement (http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,824). This contribution will ban and prevent spiders from searching for email addresses. Once a scammer spider looks inside the getout.php file they are added to a denied list and inside the .htaccess file, you are then sent an email notification with there ip address and access link. The spider is then presented with thousands of misleading and nonreal email address to scan.

SpeedSell.de-API Modul

This is basically what I consider a bug fix. I always thought it odd that when changing the status on a special the special did not stay selected on the administration screen nor did a newly added special become the selected special. Milestone 2 partially fixed the first problem but failed to pass all of the necessary information along when you click the status buttons. This file has both problems fixed. Now when you change the status of any special that special will become the default special displayed on screen, ready for you to click the edit button to modify the price or expiration. This is very handy if your store is like ours and puts items on special with an expiration date and then later runs a new special on the same item after the first special for the item has expired. And now any new special that you add will become the default special displayed on screen making it easy to double check the special price and expiration date. To install, simply replace the specials.php file in the admin folder with this one.

Special on Front Page - With New Products In Cat

This new version of new_products.php gives you the specials on your default page, however once you click into a category you get the new products as before. This is not original work - more a concatenation of the original plus a revised specials module in another contribution

Sorting Attributes

I put this in place for myself because it was driving me crazy trying to get the product options displayed in the order I wanted. All the sorting contributions I came across were difficult to implement or changed a lot of code. All I wanted was something that showed my options in order of price. Or at the very least showed them in the order I entered them. It's a simple fix that takes less than a minute. What it does... First - sorts by price Second - if price is same (or 0), it sorts based on the order that the option was entered.

Puts the categories block (similar to new products block) on the home page. 3. Hides the categories left nav feature on the home page of the store 4. Shopping Cart Empty - fix/work around

This contribution is really a fix/work around for the "Shopping Cart Empty" bug that had been reported by a number of osCommerce developers and users. After much researching osCommerce forums, bug reports, Google, etc. I could not find a satisfactory answer to the empty cart bug. Although there were a number of good suggestions regarding hosting on a secure server or not, changing the config file settings for the cookie path, turning on various session options, changing session storage to mysql or the file system - none had any affect on the outcome of an empty cart whenever a customer choose to add the product to their cart. My work around involves a slight change to the product_info.php module.

Shop To It data feed export

Data feed export for Shop To It, a Canadian shopping search engine (ala Bizrate and friends but for Canadian merchants). This being the first version I can only verify that it works on a default install. The script itsefl is based on the froogle export and was modified to output an xml feed according in Shop To It's spec.

Shipping Left Right Buttons

Allows for Left or Right sided Shipping buttons in Shipping modules. Includes Freebee.php which is for Free Shipping, but this is used mainly in association with the Downloads Controller contribution. But, you may find a use for it. Right sided buttons use the original code and the Left sided buttons the code is rearranged for a 4 column table for each module to balance and align shipping modules with one another. Updated images are centered and sized.

Sessions based on files instead of mysql

Sessions based on files system instead of mysql database. If you want to save the maximum of mysql ressource and gain time loading your pages, try this hack. It is simple to install and works fine. Just follow install.txt

Session Start Mod

This mod changes the behaviour of osCommerce to stop it from creating a session until a user goes to log-in or tries to buy a product. The mod has been designed so that you can switch off 'force cookie usage' in the shop configuration without appending a session ID to the query string. That means that users without cookies switched on can still buy products. The mod also changes the behaviour of 'add product' and 'buy it now' to move them out of product_info.php and into their own PHP files. This allows you to use robots.txt to disallow crawlers from hitting the login, add product, and buy it now pages. What this means is that crawlers can spider your site without creating a session, and without ever seeing a session ID.

Session Regeneration

Session regeneration generates a new session id when the customer logs in or creates an account. This contribution eliminates problems with sessions recorded by spiders as the identifier is recreated for visitors during the login/create-account process. It also eliminates problems with duplicate sessions being used by different customers simply because everytime someone logins to his account the session ID changes while the cart contents are preserved. Separate GST/PST for Canada

This is a simplistic patch that will show GST & PST on separate lines. Easy to install. Just extract this file to: includes/classes, and it will overwrite your current order_total.php (in most cases, where you are running 2.2-CVS, this should not be a problem.)

Select Categories/Products

This contribution speeds up the adding, changing and deleting and so on...on the admin side of the osCommerce system. At the administration menu you just select the categories/product option then you are present with Category and Product prompts which are dropdowns and make your selects and click submit...and away you go.

SECURITY PATCH for include_once.php (PR2.1)

This hopefully solve a Security Problem with include_once.php under version PR 2.1. Security Fix for logoff.php

This has been bothering me for ages. There is a glitch in the log off system of osc that allows a person to click the back button on a browser and reload the last expired page .. which could be something private like account details page or something. They can see a persons account info etc. The default osc logoff.php just needs a small piece of code added to destroy and redirect / refresh the logout page once so that if the back button is clicked the logout page will stay locked in a loop and will not go back to any previous cached page history. Security Error Fix For STS Template

This change permits those using FLASH or any hardcoded url in the sts header to not receive the security error message. Point is you don't want to hardcode http:// if you have security on (Which you should) otherwise you get the annoying security error.

Secure Admin Login - Logout

This contribution comes from the inspiration of Jason D. Agostoni who presented his code in an article on "Security and Sessions in PHP". His article and documentation can be found at: http://www.devarticles.com/c/a/MySQL/Security-and-Sessions-in-PHP/ I converted his code and made it work for the OSCommerce Admin Panel. This is totally PHP based code that uses sessions. There are not any javascripts or .htaccess files in this code. I was looking for code that is non-intrusive in the OSCommerce code structure and this did the job wonderfully!! I was concerned if this code would conflict with the Admin session ID: osCAdminID. In all of my testing I have not experienced any problems with it at all. One major security problem that we needed to solve is that anyone can use the backspace button on their browser to get back into secure areas on many web sites after logoff. We have merchants using their shopping carts in their stores where security is important from customers and other employees. Javascripts only work when people have javascripts enabled and .htaccess allows browsers to use the back button to gain access after logoff. I was able to add some code in the logoff.php file which writes a "logged off" tag to the session ID. This prevents anyone from gaining access again after logoff.
